You know it’s time for a January home refresh when the decorations are down, the kids are back to school & the quality street tin is almost empty! After weeks of festive indulgence you might now find yourself hitting the gym or trying out a juicing regime (good luck with that!) but have you considered a detox programme for your home too?
January is going to be a long month of hibernation so you want to make sure you are at least staying at home in style, check out our top tips for a January home refresh for a quick and easy update that will brighten up your home for the rest of winter and beyond.
1. Clean & Detox
With that last bit of glitter all hoovered up and all the decorations packed away it’s time to take all surfaces back to clean lines & empty spaces. Pull all your accessories together and take your space back to a blank canvas to start again.
2. Take Stock & De-Clutter
Here’s your chance to make those little improvements that have been niggling at you for months. Take a look at all your accessories and filter out all the surplus pieces that have found themselves on your table tops & shelves without good reason. Stick to the key pieces you really love and build your look around them. Give any unnecessary pieces away to a good home or post them on Gumtree, after all one persons trash is another’s treasure.
3. Re-Arrange & Re-Shape
A change is as good as a holiday and this applies to your home too. A subtle change in position can open up a room and make everything feel new so enlist the help of a strong & willing assistant and try out some new furniture layouts.
4. Colour & Tone
A few new cushions in a vibrant shade will bring a burst of freshness to your living room & will give your look an entire new theme. Why not be a little daring and inject a couple of cushions in a brand new shade you have never considered before?
5. Accessorise & accessorise a little more….
Time for the finishing touches that will make all the difference.
Picture perfect….
After Christmas & New Year we always have a load of new family snaps that are too good to waste sitting in a phone. Get them printed & out on display in a range of brand new picture frames.
Beautiful blooms…
Once the Christmas centrepieces have been packed away faux flowers are a great shout for adding a fresh and exciting feel to the dining room.
Silver tones & trinkets galore….
